Brace yourself for a wallet pinch. The price of the 2025 Ford Maverick has just seen a significant hike.

It seems like Ford sold the soul of the Maverick for profit. It was brought to life as a compact truck to provide people with an affordable option. However, with continuous price increases the 2025 Ford Maverick is far from practical.

What is the price of the 2025 Ford Maverick?

The 2025 Ford Maverick starts at $27,990. This price includes the $1,595 destination fee. The 2024 model started at $24,885 including the destination fee. So, the Maverick got a year-over-year price increase of $3,015.

In just about two years, the small yet powerful Maverick has seen remarkable price hikes. Launched in 2022 with a starting MSRP of $19,995, it aimed to offer consumers a compact vehicle priced below $20,000.

Nevertheless, Maverick models swiftly started to be sold at significantly elevated prices. They launched amidst a sales surge that has only intensified, and the demand continues to outpace supply.

According to Good Car Bad Car, the 2024 Maverick sold 157,345 trucks in 2024. The Ranger only sold 46,205 models, and the Toyota Tacoma sold 192,813 models. Also, the Chevrolet Colorado sold 98,013 trucks.

The Maverick remains more affordable compared to mid-size trucks. Take the 2025 Ranger, for instance, which has a starting price of $34,575, including the destination fee.

Certainly, truck prices are on the rise as a result of inflation, escalating material expenses, and disruptions in the supply chain. However, the initial appeal of the budget-friendly Maverick has faded away.

Additionally, the Maverick underwent a mid-cycle update for the 2025 model year. It features a refreshed design, improved technology, and the option to pair its hybrid engine with all-wheel drive for the first time. The hybrid engine comes standard, while adding all-wheel drive will set you back $2,220.

The standard Maverick XL model keeps it simple, featuring cloth seats, 17-inch steel rims, manual air conditioning, and lacks a push-button start option.
