Cadbury removed its hot chocolate from store shelves ahead of Christmas, and now the Birmingham-based chocolate manufacturer has provided an explanation for this decision.

Cadbury has broken its silence after an iconic product was pulled from shelves. Cadbury pulled hot chocolate from shop shelves before Christmas and now the chocolate maker, which is based in Birmingham, has spoken out and the reason has been revealed.

Cadbury refrained from providing further comments at that moment, merely stating that "in certain cases, the product's texture and color may not appear as anticipated." A representative from Mondelez, the parent company of Cadbury, emphasized: “It is crucial for us to ensure that our consumers experience the consistently high quality of Cadbury products.”

"Late last year, we discovered a quality concern with Cadbury Drinking Chocolate products, which resulted in some variations in texture and color that did not meet our standards. Consequently, the affected products were promptly removed from store shelves."

It was stated that the product is safe for consumption, but there are concerns regarding its quality. The spokesperson remarked, “If anyone is not completely happy with the quality of a Cadbury Drinking Chocolate product they have bought, we encourage them to reach out to our consumer care team for support.”

If you happen to have a tub of Cadbury hot chocolate at home, feel free to reach out to their customer support team for assistance. Cadbury is well-known for its wide range of chocolate bars, including popular options like Dairy Milk, Twirl, Flake, and Wispa, as well as seasonal treats such as Creme Eggs and Heroes.

As Christmas approached, Cadbury addressed concerns from hot chocolate enthusiasts regarding what they described as a "quality issue." One customer shared an image of the container's interior, stating, "I discovered something that appeared to be mould in a fresh tin of Cadbury hot chocolate."

One user expressed their frustration, stating, "I reached out to you regarding mould in a can of Drinking Chocolate, but I haven't received a response!" Meanwhile, another user remarked, "I was taken aback when I opened it and saw what appeared to be mould spots on the surface of the powder!"
